Dear Diary,

It is Halloween, one of my favorite days of the year. I pulled out my bat pin. It was a gift from my mom when I was in 6th grade and I wear it every year on Halloween. It’s getting a little worn, but I love it too much to part with it.

I got my hair colored yesterday. We went really dark this time. I know it will fade, so I figure the darker the better. However, the reaction I have been getting this morning hasn’t been that positive. Oh well, it’s my head. Plus, it goes with my costume. One of the gals at the salon yesterday said she was stealing my costume idea….I guess that is okay…but that kind of sucks.

My friend, Heather, sent me an e-mail. She is my girl that beat cancer, but is having infertility issues. Well, it turns out neither of her sisters want to donate an egg to her. That blows my mind, I can’t believe that. I told her she can always count on me.

Happy Halloween!

Dear Diary,

We are one day away from the Halloween party and I am so excited. It is going to be a blast. I love Halloween, I love dressing up in costumes, it is going to be great.

I am off to get my roots done today. I can’t put it off any longer. Plus, it is going to help my costume to have darker hair.

Jeff and I got some great Christmas shopping done yesterday. I know it sounds freaky-early, but I would rather do it now than wait til the last minute.

I don’t know what the plans are past this Friday. I am tunnel-vision for the Freakfest. I want to turn this into an annual Wolf Halloween party.

I ran three miles last night without stopping. I know that doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but for this novice it feels pretty good.

Dear Diary,

I got the final piece of my costume in the mail today. I ordered a shirt from American Apparel. It looks just like a shirt in a picture of the person I am going to be Friday night. I tried on everything to make sure it worked together and I am so happy it does. I worked on Jeff’s costume last night as well. We just added some finishing touches.

I can’t believe we are talking about the holidays. Jeff and I are going to try and do some shopping for his family today. We have to get everything done before Thanksgiving. That is when we will be seeing his family and doing our exchange.

Our schedule is pretty crazy for the next couple of months. We have the CMA’s in exactly 2 weeks, then we fly to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving. After that, we have our holiday show and we fly to Florida for Christmas.

I still don’t know what to get Jeff for Christmas. He is a tough one to shop for. Plus, now that he has his Gap discount, he certainly doesn’t need any clothes.

Dear Diary,

Jeff and I had a fabulous weekend, it was just what I was in the mood for. Friday, Jeff booked us for a couples’ massage. That was fantastic. Then we walked around the city and enjoyed the wonderful weather.

Saturday, we took a bike ride. We popped in to a few places and took our time. It was so much fun, until we got to Hyde Street. There was no way we could ride up that steep of a hill. We walked it, and even that took us a while:) We were pretty wiped out and relaxed when we got home.

Jeff picked up a grill, so we were finally able to grill out. We made some terryaki wings. They were so good. Plus, we made some healthy dipping sauce to go with it. One was a spicy mustard and the other was a peanut sauce.

Sunday, I jogged three miles. I know that is no where near a half marathon, but it is a start.

Dear Diary,

I had such a wonderful time this morning. What an amazing crowd we had in Concord for our Freak & Greet. Everyone was so nice, we met a ton of fabulous people. It was great and time just flew by. There were so many cute animals in costume, from German Shepards dressed as cops to a Bearded Dragon masquerading as a spider. It was hilarious. Our Toby Keith winner was a Chihuahua dressed as a bandito…yes, somewhat type-cast.

I love Halloween and it was so fun to hang out with people who enjoy it as much as I do.

My dermatologist called me last night to let me know the results of my biopsy. I have Granuloma annulare. It is a skin disease that really has no rhyme or reason as to why you get it. Usually it goes away on its own, but I am one of the "lucky" ones. I have had this for a couple of years and they seem to be getting bigger. My doctor recommended some Cortisone shots. Hopefully, that will make it fade away. We will find out next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

Dear Diary,

After the show yesterday, I popped in to PetCo. to find costumes for my dogs for Friday. I am so excited for the Eat & Greet…excuse me, Freak and Greet in Concord. We are doing it live from a haunted house and we are having a pet costume contest. I love that…there is nothing better than a pet in a fabulous outfit. I think we will get a good turn-out, we are giving away a trip to see Toby Keith in San Diego to the best animal in costume.

Jeff and I are still hemming and hawing about Christmas travel. My dad is excited for us to come down, but I have to figure out what to do with the pups. It will be pretty expensive to board them for a week. I do have a friend who lives here who might be able to watch them. Eddie says if he doesn’t go home, he could do it as well.

I actually hope Eddie gets to see his family for the holidays. He hasn’t seen them in so long.

We will figure something out. In the meantime, I have to charge my camera. There are going to be some great pictures tomorrow.

Dear Diary,

I am looking forward to this weekend. Jeff and I have nothing planned and nowhere we have to be. That is my kind of weekend, we can just fly by the seat of our pants. We were talking about maybe going to dinner for our anniversary tomorrow night, but I am trying to stick to my diet. I don’t want to look like I have let myself go since the wedding and the move.

So instead, we are treating ourselves to a small grill for our apartment balcony. We haven’t grilled out since we moved here and that is one of our favorite things to do….steak, chicken wings….yum.

I am still hunting for tix home for Christmas. I really want to see my family, so we might just suck it up and do it. Ken made a good point, family is more important than money…how much money?

Jeff and I will probably carve pumpkins this weekend as well. I can’t believe Halloween is less than two weeks away. My costume is coming together. I am so excited.

Dear Diary,

I went to Simply Beautiful Monday and left 6 inches smaller. That’s a nice feeling. I was inspired Sunday and used that motivation to get my butt up a half hour early and run on the treadmill. I am going to start slow and train for a 5K, then work up to a 10K…and finally a half marathon. That is the plan, anyway.

I sent off a birthday present to Jeff’s mom. Her birthday is the 26th. I am a little nervous it will be late. Jeff is in charge of his dad’s gift. They both have birthdays at the end of this month.

I wanted to do something special for Jeff this week. On Thursday it will be five years that we have been together. I know that when you are married, you don’t really celebrate the smaller anniversaries. However, I think this is a big milestone for us. I am pretty much broke, so it will have to be a cheap something special.

Maybe I can come up with something better for our one-year anniversary in February.

Dear Diary,

This weekend went by so fast, but we did so much. Jessica got in to town Friday night and we went to dinner. Saturday we got up and did some shopping. She wanted to check out some fun maternity shops in San Francisco. Then we headed to Burlingame to hit the Gap. That way, we can use Jeff’s discount.

We wanted to check out the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival, so we drove towards Ken’s place. It took us over and hour and a half to get there. We drove through the festival and it looked awesome, but the crowds were insane. We ended up sitting on the beach and just relaxing. I actually liked that better. It was beautiful out, we had a blast just chilling on the sand.

Sunday, Jess was up bright and early for her 7AM half marathon. It was crazy-crowded, but so amazing. The whole event raised over $18-million. I was so inspired by these women. To see a woman in chemo running a marathon really puts things in perspective. I think I am going to try and do a half. I am going to start working my way up to it. We will see how it goes.

Dear Diary,

Well, I had some pretty good incentive to stay on my diet yesterday. When I got home, I knelt down to pick something up…and that is when I split my jeans. Wow, that doesn’t hurt the ego. And these were not cheap jeans either. I am glad we are going shopping this weekend. I wore those jeans all the time. Boo.

Ken, Eddie and I grabbed a beer together after work. Sometimes it seems all we talk about is work stuff. It was nice to kick back and just chat. Plus, Ken was in a great mood. Charlene came in town last night.

Jeff and I had a pretty laid back night. We were both pretty wiped. This weekend is going to be "go with the flow." The half marathon is Sunday, but I think Jeff’s sis and her pals are headed to Napa right after. Maybe Jeff and I can go to the pumpkin festival in Half Moon Bay after that.

I am still waiting on airline tickets to go down. That will make or break our holiday plans in Florida.
