Dear Diary,

Things were so chaotic in the studio yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to write in my diary. We had BriteSmile on the air with us. They are the places that whiten your teeth in just an hour. However, now they are offering all kinds of different services. They are doing Botox, Restalyne, laser-hair removal…I love it.

Not only did I get Botox done yesterday, but they plumped up my lips. I have never done that before. It was fascinating. They numb your whole mouth, so it is completely painless. Then they give you a series of injections to plump up your lips. The effect is immediate. I really like it. There was a little bit of bruising, but they said it wouldn’t last.

I am almost packed for our Thanksgiving trip to Minneapolis. It is hard to get yourself in the cold mind-set. What jacket do I bring? Should I bring my snow boots? They did say it would snow this week. We don’t plan on being outside too much. However, we are doing a 5K Thanksgiving morning. Hopefully, I have the proper clothes.

I ran four miles last night without stopping. That is the farthest I have gone in a long time. It felt great. I want to keep up this momentum.

Have a great turkey day!

Dear Diary,

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is only days away. Jeff checked the weather forecast for Minneapolis. It is supposed to snow all week. Wow, talk about change from here. Looks like I will be packing a bunch of sweaters and jeans.

We finished up our Christmas shopping yesterday for Jeff’s family. I think we did pretty well. I just hope it isn’t cheesy that all of our presents are coming from either Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. That’s what happens when your hubby works at corporate.

I will say I am disappointed my sis and I haven’t buried the hatchet before the holiday season. However, all in good time I guess. I think everything happens for a reason. When the appropriate time has passed and certain feelings are gone, we will figure it out.

This is going to be a short week and we have a ton of stuff to do. And of course, we have waited to the last minute to do it all. Isn’t that always the way?

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

It is Friday already. This week flew by. I know I keep talking about the CMA’s in Nashville, but it is experiences like those that inspire me all over again. It gives me even more energy for this job and gives me all of these ideas I want to do.

Today, I am taking Katie to lunch. She is one of my favorite gals here and she is moving. She is moving to Nashville, actually. She is such a great girl, an amazingly hard worker and a ton of fun. I will miss her, but how exciting.

After that, I am headed to the baseball fields to watch Gap take on Gap Outlet in softball. It is a fun Friday activity. I hope Jeff gets to play more this time.

Tomorrow, I think we are going to check out the new Bond flick with our friend, Alex. There is a theater in Japan Town that serves food and drinks. Should be fun.

Dear Diary,

I got so much done yesterday. That is such a great feeling. I even squeezed in a phone call with my dad. He and I have been playing phone tag for a while. I haven’t even has a chance to tell him about the CMA’s. We had a great chat. I am looking forward to seeing him for Christmas and New Year’s.

Speaking of Christmas, I have to get my act together this weekend. Jeff and I need to finish up our shopping for his family. We are celebrating Christmas over Thanksgiving. So, everything needs to be packed and ready to go by Wednesday.

Eddie is doing me a huge favor. He is going to come stay at our pad and watch the pups for me. That is going to save me a ton of money by not using a kennel. Plus, this way the dogs get to stay in their own home.

Eddie’s brother will be in town as well. By staying at our apartment, they can have easy access to the city and some touristy things.

It is a quick trip next week. We will be back late Saturday. I wish we had longer, but those were the best flights we could find.

Dear Diary,

The web was down yesterday so I didn’t get to do my diary entry. Oops. Glad we are back on-line today. We had such a great interview with Randy Houser yesterday. He has the new single, "Anything Goes." The lyrics are amazing, his soulful singing is breath-taking. But the best part is how laid-back and real he is. That is the best part about this biz, the artists themselves.

I was checking my e-mail this morning and apparently I made a lot of friends in Nashville. I must have given them all my business card. There were about ten e-mails with the subject: Nice meeting you in Nashville. I wish they included photos so I could remember who was who.

I sent out an e-mail to a bunch of my Minneapolis friends yesterday. Jeff and I are headed to town for Thanksgiving for a very short visit so I want to catch as many people as I can. I hate sending out those mass e-mails, they are so impersonal. However, it is truly the easiest way to reach everyone.

I do get chastised for my lack of calling. I am the worst about that. When I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is pick up the phone and talk some more.

Dear Diary,

I got some great sleep this weekend. I was in this weird mood. I think I was coming down from a Nashville high. It was quite a switch to go from hanging with country celebrities and being on the go…to doing laundry and sweeping up dog hair. I had to come back to reality.

Jeff and I had a great weekend though. We slept in late and then walked to breakfast on Saturday. We did some grocery shopping and got food for dinner. We watched movies and relaxed. Those are my favorite kinds of weekends.

He had a rough week, he was sick as a dog. He was finally getting better on Saturday. He didn’t even sound like himself when I got back in town.

It felt good to be home and to sleep in my own bed. I was definitely getting back into my regular routine by Sunday night. That means getting back on the diet as well. We head to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving. I can’t believe we are smack-dab in the holidays already.

Dear Diary,

I could barely peel my eyes open this morning. It is official, my body desperately needs sleep. I wish I could sleep on planes. Eddie took a four hour nap on our flight home last night. I was so jealous.

It was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night, but I was sorry our Nashville trip was over. We did get a chance before our flight to walk around the town and take in some of the sights. Wow, what an amazing place. I can’t wait to go back.

The people were so friendly, it blew my mind how nice everyone was. It must be that southern hospitality.

I think on my schedule for this weekend is sleep, sleep and more sleep. I will squeeze some DVR and the Gator game in somewhere.

We have a reporter coming in to the studio today. I don’t think this photo is come out as good as I would like. Hopefully, I can keep my eyes open long enough for the shot.

Dear Diary,

My first CMA experience was truly amazing. I can’t wait to come back. I didn’t get a chance to write yesterday, all of the power was out in the hotel and the laptop was dead.

I wish we had more time here. I want to see more of the sights, check out all of the honkeytonks…this place was a ghost town this morning. All of the artists were flying to their next gigs. So unfortunately, I won’t be tripping over Chuck Wicks in the hotel bar or having a really crazy flight back with the Lost Trailers.

Everyone was friendly, open and ready to talk. That is what I love about country music and the people behind it.

The actual award show was surreal. The outfits were beautiful, the performances were phenomenal…I wanted it to go on all night. I met someone who works at a Buffalo radio station and we just chatting about how lucky we are to be in this business. I will never forget this week.

Dear Diary,

Eddie and I are having the most amazing time and we haven’t even been here twelve hours. Our flight to Nashville was delayed for three hours, but nobody noticed because we were having too much fun. The Lost Trailers were on our flight. We hung out, had some drinks…next thing you know, we are in Nashville at our hotel for the CMA’s.

Eddie and I went to grab a bite in the hotel restaurant…and who is cruising the bar? Chuuuucka Wiiicks! All l I know is the bar is no longer there, because Eddie, Chuck Wicks and I drank it.

This morning was overwhelming. Every where I looked there was a celebrity…Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, James Otto, Randy Owen, Jake Owen…it was awesome. I am loving this. You have that feeling like you don’t know what is going to happen next.

This town is fabulous as well. I have a ton of friends who love this city and now I know why.

Dear Diary,

The time change is really throwing me off. It is odd to take a nap and wake up to complete darkness. It does make it feel more like fall around here. I do miss that about Minneapolis, the changing of the leaves and the crispness in the air of the coming Winter. However, I know when March comes around and I am not dealing with snow I will be delighted.

Today is going to be a very busy day. Our boss is not just our boss anymore, he is the boss of a place in Seattle as well. So he splits his weeks between the different cities. That means when he is in town, we have to get in a week’s worth of stuff in two days. We have back to back meetings this morning and then it is off to San Ramon for a body wrap at Simply Beautiful.

Ken, Eddie and I grabbed a quick lunch yesterday. Sometimes, it is nice to get out of the office setting and just hang out as real people. It was relaxing and nice to just chat as friends and not co-workers.

I really should pack for Nashville, but I have a feeling I will be doing it at the last minute on Saturday
