Dear Diary,

The rain held off yesterday afternoon, so I went for a run instead of going to the gym. It was so nice to be able to walk out of my house without having to hurdle the homeless or sidestep human fecal matter.

We are supposed to have some decent weather through Saturday, so I want to take advantage of that. We are hitting a patio furniture sale this weekend. I can’t wait to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors.

Javier, my Chihuahua is sitting on my lap right now. Our landlord, Bob, is going to the house today to fix a leak. I thought it would be easier to just take the dogs to work with me. I hope I don’t get caught. The building doesn’t really like it. I am glad he is fixing that leak, the basement is starting to smell moldy.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

Jeff took a tumble on his bike yesterday. He skinned up his knee, the poor thing. The only good that came out of it is that he is now using his helmet. I guess he misjudged that curb…and down he went. Oops.

I thought we would be awash with rain yesterday, but it cleared up around noon. It was a nice break since it is supposed to rain through the weekend and until Tuesday. I hope things clear up for Allison and Alvin’s visit. That would suck.

Eddie and I are headed to Danville Ink tomorrow. I want to get another tattoo. I have the idea and the location, I just need the art. I even know what I want for the tattoo, but I want a more symbolic version and I want the tattoo artist to draw something unique. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with.

Dear Diary,

The weather was flat-out gorgeous yesterday. You definitely wanted to take advantage of it, since we are getting rain for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Jeff and I went to lunch and sat in the sun for a while. The I dragged my butt to the gym. I am feeling that today.

I talked to Allison. She and her husband are coming in town next week. I wanted to touch base about some of the things they want to do while they are here. She mentioned Alcatraz, so I sent her a link. It tends to sell out rather quickly. I think we will do the touristy stuff, like the Embarcadero and the sea lions along with North Beach and Chinatown. This is their first visit to the bay area.

We will do wine country as well, however, Allison will be our designated driver. She is pregnant. I am so happy for her. I think a stop a Gap Maternity will be in order as well. I can’t wait to see them.

Patience

Dear Friends,

Today is Tuesday, February 24th and I’ve entered my 3rd week of working out and eating better.  My Fitness Coach, Danny, weighed me for the 1st time since starting my workout and I have to say I was a little disappointed.  I’ve only lost 4lbs.  Although this is a very realistic start to a proper workout and new eating regimen, I was really hoping for a bigger loss.  I was pretty crabby at the gym, with Danny and all night last night.  After a good nights sleep I realized this morning that what I haven’t lost in pounds, I’ve made up for in stamina.  I have more energy throughout the day and the number of reps I’m doing have increased with every workout.  I am always tempted to cheat … I crave salt and sugar like mad … but so far I’ve resisted.  Except for the occasional glass of red wine.

I’m still in the game to win …. and most definately could not do it with any other gym besides New Direction Fitness in Danville.  It’s unlike any other place I’ve been before, with a talented, caring, motivating staff that is behind me all the way.  It’s not easy, but having them all on my team makes it worth the pain.

Thanks again for you emails of support … Fat picture coming soon :)

See you on the radio … Eddie

Dear Diary,

I had to stay in the city yesterday afternoon for a doctor’s appointment, so I offered to pick up Jeff after work. He said the ferry was much more relaxing than the commute via car. I am sure a floating commute with a glass of chardonnay is more relaxing versus bumper to bumper over the Golden Gate.

We have a bike shop right by the house, so he took his bike in to get a tune-up. I walked around while we waited and drooled over the huge selection. It made me miss the one I had stolen. Maybe someone will take the hint for my b-day in June.

Okay, now that the house if officially put together…there are no excuses for not going to the gym. I packed a bag full of clothes to go today. There is no reason not to…but I am sure if I thought long enough I could come up with one.

Jeff and I don’t have any plans for the weekend and we are keeping it that way. I am looking forward to doing nothing.

Dear Diary,

This weekend was quite a success. The Miss Oakland pageant was very exciting and quite an experience. I had a great time and met some fabulous people. I admire the hard work those girls put into this. It is not easy task.

I spent Friday and Sunday working on the house. I am pleased to say Jeff and I are pretty much done. The pictures are hung and the rugs are laid out. The last box has been put in the recycling bin. I am so happy with everything. I have never put a house together so fast.

I feel like it is meant to be. Lisa and Chris came over for dinner last night. Jeff grilled out, despite the rain. We had such a great time, it was so nice to see them. It was the perfect way to break things in.

Last week, while I was on the air. I had a great idea…(well, I think it’s a great idea.  :)   ). I’m looking for local bands who want to showcase their music here on my blog. If you are a band from California and would like to be seen by a ton of people send me your information and if you have a video that would be great. You can send your submissions to me directly at  nikkilandry at 957thewolf.com. Please provide your name of the band, pictures if you have any, the name of your band members and also attach the song, in an mp3 format.

Who knows what will happen. Maybe a record rep could see your music on my blog…ya never know but it’s worth a shot, isn’t it?

Each week, we will have battle of the bands where listeners can vote daily and the band who gets the most votes on the website wins. I’m trying to find out if the winner can have their song played on the Wolf!! (I’m sure I can make this happen, I just need to talk to the boss!). So, go ahead submit your music, your video, your band information and let’s start debuting California’s most proud local bands!

It’s time for you to Rise and Shine and get Seen!

Until Next Time,

Much Love,

Nikki

PS. The Wolf is heard world wide at www.957thewolf.com
