Patience

Posted in: Eddie's Dish

Dear Friends,

Today is Tuesday, February 24th and I’ve entered my 3rd week of working out and eating better.  My Fitness Coach, Danny, weighed me for the 1st time since starting my workout and I have to say I was a little disappointed.  I’ve only lost 4lbs.  Although this is a very realistic start to a proper workout and new eating regimen, I was really hoping for a bigger loss.  I was pretty crabby at the gym, with Danny and all night last night.  After a good nights sleep I realized this morning that what I haven’t lost in pounds, I’ve made up for in stamina.  I have more energy throughout the day and the number of reps I’m doing have increased with every workout.  I am always tempted to cheat … I crave salt and sugar like mad … but so far I’ve resisted.  Except for the occasional glass of red wine.

I’m still in the game to win …. and most definately could not do it with any other gym besides New Direction Fitness in Danville.  It’s unlike any other place I’ve been before, with a talented, caring, motivating staff that is behind me all the way.  It’s not easy, but having them all on my team makes it worth the pain.

Thanks again for you emails of support … Fat picture coming soon :)

See you on the radio … Eddie

Last week, while I was on the air. I had a great idea…(well, I think it’s a great idea.  :)   ). I’m looking for local bands who want to showcase their music here on my blog. If you are a band from California and would like to be seen by a ton of people send me your information and if you have a video that would be great. You can send your submissions to me directly at  nikkilandry at 957thewolf.com. Please provide your name of the band, pictures if you have any, the name of your band members and also attach the song, in an mp3 format.

Who knows what will happen. Maybe a record rep could see your music on my blog…ya never know but it’s worth a shot, isn’t it?

Each week, we will have battle of the bands where listeners can vote daily and the band who gets the most votes on the website wins. I’m trying to find out if the winner can have their song played on the Wolf!! (I’m sure I can make this happen, I just need to talk to the boss!). So, go ahead submit your music, your video, your band information and let’s start debuting California’s most proud local bands!

It’s time for you to Rise and Shine and get Seen!

Until Next Time,

Much Love,

Nikki

PS. The Wolf is heard world wide at www.957thewolf.com

As I was scrolling through the classifieds (ett hmmm…CMT) I came across this new band they’re called “Carter Twins” I’ve attached their video with their latest song. I’d like to know what you think about them and what your thoughts are about the song. Either good or bad, I’d like to know. We add music here on The Wolf based on YOUR votes. So, if you like them and their song…post it here and let me know. The song is called “Heart Like Memphis”

Ladies and Gentlemen…Please Welcome:

Carter Twins!!!

Dear Friends,

Finished another workout today with Danny McLarty (Coach & Jedi Master) at New Direction Fitness in Danville.  The gym is having a competition to see which of it’s members can improve their overall stats in 4 months.  Many factors involved, including weight (201lbs), body fat (27.41%) & other technical terms I know nothing about.  So, I’m allowing them to post my big, fat photo on the wall and I’m taking the challenge.  I think having my fat, half naked picture on the wall for all to see & working against others will inspire me to work even harder.

.

I am exhausted and sore right now, I’m kinda cranky and hungry for a large Sausage Pizza.  Doesn’t matter though … I had a very healthy dinner of Turkey Breast and Veggies & I’m actually enjoying my green/mint tea.  Pizza will taste much better anyway when I look like Vin Diesel :)

.

Thanks to everyone for all your emails of support … it really is motivating me to stay the course.

See you on the radio … Eddie

Dear Friend,

As I type my little blog, Corey is tempting me with potato chips.  Yes, I ate one chip … just one.  Last week was my first full week of working out, as well as my new eating regimen.  I’m not brave enough to post the photo’s of my half naked, chubby body online yet … but I will give you my stats:

Height: 5′7” / Weight: 201lbs / Body Fat: 27.41%

Ok, stop laughing for a moment and take comfort in the fact that these are not your stats.  They are, in fact, MINE!!!!!!  Many people have changed their lives with Jesus, Depak Chopra, The Dalai Lama, even Oprah & Maya Angelou … I am changing my life with Danny McLarty & Ben Jackson (of New Direction Fitness in Danville)  Danny is my trainer and Ben is the owner of New Direction Fitness and I will talk more about them later.  Right now, just know that I am dedicated to getting in the best/healthiest shape of my life in 2009.  I turn 40 in July and want to look and feel my best as I spiral downward into old age.

See you on the radio …. Eddie

Love the weekends, not to mention it’s going to be a three day weekend!

What do you have planned?

I was thinking about going to Napa with the wifey but it may be a little inundated as it is V-Day weekend.  So I’m planning on preparing Kerry a candlelight dinner at home so we can all spend time with the O.P. (“Optimus Prime,” our puppy).  I swear they’re attached at the hip, he’s a total mommy’s boy and when we’re away from him for more than a couple days we both go through withdrawals!  ;)

Either way, we’re one day away from this three day weekend and I WISH YOU NOTHING LESS THAN A PHENOMENAL WEEKEND THAT YOU CAN SPEND WITH YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES!

Jon Rich has a new song out called “Shuttin’ Detroit Down.”  It’s probably the most relevant song any artist (be it in the Country music format or a differing one) has put out in these difficult economic times.  If you haven’t listened to the song yet, give it three minutes of your time and you’ll understand!  It points out what we’ve all been thinking but puts it in a very artistic manner that simply blew me away!

Hello Good People ….

Welcome to my new blog.  I haven’t figured everything out just yet, so this is really just kind of a test.  But I promise to write and confide in you often.  Mainly because nobody around here listens to a word I have to say :)

See you on the radio … Eddie
