Friday

Dear Diary,

I am sitting here smack dab in the middle of Eat & Greet. I am watching Glorianna play at the Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria in Menlo Park. This is a blast and they are fantastic. The boys are all inked up, I love it. I wanna sit and chat about tats with them. However, they are quite popular right now. I will have to wait my turn.

Looks like this weekend is gonna be another gray one. I am guessing we will be working through some Netflix. I am meeting a new friend, Maggie, for happy hour tonight. Jeff is working late. So, she and I are going to hit a wine bar and catch up sans husbands.

Otherwise, I am enjoying another weekend where I don’t have to be anywhere or meet any obligations. I am working on plans for my dad and step-mom. We are looking for a fabulous place to stay in Sonoma that takes dogs and has a B&B feel. I love Madrona Manor, but I don’t think they take dogs.

Alright, back to Glorianna.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Thursday

Dear Diary,

It is already Friday Eve, that is the beauty of the four-day work week. It kind of feels like Friday today, since tomorrow is the Eat and Greet in Menlo Park. It is so fun and different to be out of the studio and doing the show with a fantastic audience.

It has been so chilly lately. Last night there was such a fog and mist on everything, it was spooky.

I sent off another baby gift today. My friend Allison in Gainesville is pregnant and they are having a shower for her next week. I wish I could go, but I sent a gift in lieu of my presence. I can’t believe she is due in August. That is so crazy.

I am so happy for them, it is just weird all of my pals becoming parents. It is a sign of the times. Doesn’t mean Jeff and I are gonna do it, though…LOL.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

I love short weeks, we are already to hump day. I took a spin class yesterday, it was sweaty and fabulous. The teacher was great, he does a lot of hills…which means a lot of burn calories.

I also did some research for places to stay in Healdsburg. My dad and step-mom will be here in June and we are going to head up there. The last time they were in town, we stuck mainly around the city. Jeff and I want to take them to our favorite wineries. Plus, my pal Lisa said she would give us a tour of the Brutacoa winery. We can do some barrel tasting, plus they have a bocce court.

Looks like no kayaking this weekend, either. The weather is supposed to be chilly. Boo…we have only taken it out once. We plan on renting one the week my dad is here, then the four of us can go.

I should take the time to clean the house…but that sounds like no fun at all. And you can’t imagine how hard it is to get Jeff to pitch in, it’ s like pulling teeth.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

What a great weekend, Jeff and I enjoyed every minute of it. Friday, we took the ferry home because my car was in the shop. It wasn’t done until Saturday. We went for drinks with Eddie and Pacey, then hopped on the ferry. I wish I could take that to work every day, but I bet it would be pretty cold at 4:30AM.

Saturday was kind of gray and gloomy, so we took care of some errands. I am trying to get photos organized. I haven’t put our wedding reception together yet. Yeah, it has been over a year.

Sunday we went to the Caledonia Street Fair in Sausalito. The sun finally made an appearance, except it was pretty chilly. It was great to walk around, take the dogs with us and listen to some live music.

Sunday was another chilly day, so we worked through some movies. Jeff was nursing a sore throat, so it was probably better that we laid low…oh, and of course, there was plenty of food involved.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Friends,

Happy Memorial Day!  Went to my usual gym appointment today @ 2pm with Danny of New Direction Fitness in Danville.  I’ve been beating myself up lately because I haven’t become as thin as I was hoping in 4 months, although I haven’t done myself any favors by breaking the nutrition rules more often than I can count….including drinking.  Why is eating healthier and exercising regularly SO DAMN HARD????????  Because I’ve been mad at myself for not reaching my goals sooner, I’ve been moody and not much fun to be around lately.  But something happened this weekend to change all that.  I noticed a change in my body, a change I didn’t expect.  I have always lost weight by loosing fat, never building muscle and strength.  Because I wasn’t loosing fat quickly this time, even after 4 months, I was thinking about quitting.  But over the past week and this weekend, I noticed several changes …. that my posture is better and I have more strength and stamina than I’ve felt in a long time.  My body is changing, but this time from the inside out.  So, I’ve decided to stop whining about it and bust my ass and continue to get in the best shape of my life.  If I don’t do it no one will do it for me … and I don’t want to be a Big Fat 40 year old.  I hope I’ve motivated or inspired someone out there …. THIS SHIT IS HARD WORK!  Anyone who says it isn’t is a big, fat liar.

Stay Gold, Ponyboy, Stay Gold … Eddie (Well, S.E. Hinton)

Friday

Posted in: Corey's Diary

Dear Diary,

I am so happy it is Friday and a 3-day weekend, what a treat.

We went to happy hour with some new friends last night, Maggie and Ted. We met them at a new place called RN74. It has a really cool vibe, but it is a little pricey. It was fun to hang out with them and get to know them better.

On a downer, I got an email that really bothered me. I am so excited that my dad and stepmom are coming in town. Jeff and I invited them to come out and stay at our new place. My dad loves San Francisco.

My sis and I are on the outs right now, but she lives in California…so, my dad can’t come in town without a visit with her. So, they are trying to schedule visits without the two of us over-lapping and I am getting a vibe…the blame is pointed at me. I am not the one the sparked this and I am still waiting for an apology. It will be a year next month and not once has she reached out. It’s really too bad…our family is so small. I am totally willing to work things out, but she won’t even say she is sorry. What she said to me a year ago was the most awful thing anyone has ever said to me…and it really hurts my feelings that I feel cornered and to blame for this “complicated” trip. Why hasn’t she invited them out to visit her in L.A.?

Oh well, I am just glad my dad and step-mom are coming. I am sure it will all work out.

Talk to you tomorrow,
