Hey fellow Wolfpack peeps! :D

As I mentioned on the air, the Exploratorium in SF is doing some cool stuff – and it’s not just for kids anymore! The first Thursday of the month they have a program called After Dark about which they say:  “Not a theater, cabaret, or gallery, After Dark contains aspects of all three. Each evening showcases a different topic—from music to sex to electricity—but all include a cash bar and film screenings, plus an opportunity to play with our hundreds of hands-on exhibits.” Gotta play with your science  – hee.

PaisleyUnderwoodCMA Play On: Country artists are back on the road, as Brad Paisley kicked off 2010 with his American Saturday Night tour extension in San Antonio (1/7), Oklahoma City (1/8) and Wichita (1/9). The Oklahoman said Paisley’s OKC show “reaffirmed his reputation as a musical triple-threat, expertly tearing through guitar solos and belting out lyrics of his own devising.” Paisley’s was also the first concert at Wichita’s INTRUST Bank Arena. “We walked around backstage and there are still price tags on things,” Paisley told local station KAKE-TV. “I can tell you the chairs in my dressing room were $125.99, if you’d like to know.” The ASN tour picks back up this Thursday (1/14) in Sioux City, IA.
And speaking of tours, if you’re in the mood for sushi and a show, Taylor Swift has added a Feb. 17 Tokyo concert to her Fearless 2010 tour, with openers Gloriana and Kellie Pickler. Next Friday (1/22), George Strait, Reba and Lee Ann Womack open their blockbuster tour in Baltimore. The same night, Jason Aldean will be kicking off in Greenville, SC. Phil Vassar is heading across the pond for a five-date European trek Jan. 26. Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice (2/6), Carrie Underwood’s Play On (3/11) and Brooks & Dunn’s The Last Rodeo (4/23) circuits round out the spring launches. And the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show (March 2-21) has added Kenny Chesney to its lineup of country performers, which already includes Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley and others.

Hey, Y’all – maybe you heard me mention the Jimmy Wayne (right now he’s got the new song Sara Smile) is walking across a chunk of the country to help raise awareness of homelessness – and he’s doing it in the winter! Turns out he went through a rough upbringing that left him homeless for part of his teenage years, so this really means a lot to him. Here’s a good overview of what he’s up to and what he went through.

If you want to follow his travels as he heads to Arizona, you can follow him on Twitter here . ‘Guy’s doing some good stuff.

KennyChesneyRoad Scholars:  Country artists had seven of the top 50 tours of the year, led by Kenny Chesney at No. 6 with a gross of $71.1 million. Other stars on the mult-genre list include Keith Urban, ($42.7 million), Rascal Flatts ($42.2m), Brad Paisley ($35.4m), Toby Keith ($29.7m), Taylor Swift ($25.5m) and George Strait ($22m). Chesney says, “Every name on that list is a serious performer whose songs have made a mark on how people live their lives. To be on a list with those sorts of icons, [it] really makes me pause and think about all of it.” Concert trade magazine Pollstar compiled the list, which had U2 at No. 1 with $123m.
