Dear Diary,

I had an voice-over audition today. I don’t get as many of these as I used to. I think it has to do with the economy. One thing I love about this area if all of the video game companies. They look for voices for their games. I have always wanted to do that.

The rain has been holding off for the last couple of days which has been nice. Taking the dogs out in the rain is such a pain…they hate it, I hate it…and it is no good for the living room rug.

Our newest pup, Kathy, is doing good. She seems to be more relaxed than when she first got to our house. We are still working on the potty training. She knows she is supposed to go outside…but sometimes, she can be quite the little minx and mark the area rugs. My porr sheepskin rug has seen better days.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday. There is no particular reason, but this week has seemed extra long.

Talk to tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

Today started off with a bang. We lost power, so my alarm didn’t go off. I was a little late, but I didn’t miss anything. I hate being late, though. It throws me off.

I talked to my friend, Lisa, yesterday. She lives in Cloverdale and has been renovating her house for the last 6 months. Everything is finally done, so I think Jeff and I are going to head up there to check it out this weekend. It will be great to see them. I miss hanging with her.

Jeff’s new position at work is going really well, but he is so busy. He has been getting home so late…and since I have to go to bed early, we only have about an hour to spend together in the evenings. Hopefully, things will slow down soon.

That is why we appreciate our weekends so much. Our 2nd anniversary is coming up. He has got something planned. I can’t wait to find out.

Dear Diary,

Monday was so crazy, I completely forgot to do my diary entry…oops. We were all at work yesterday until 4PM…which doesn’t seem like that late. However, when you get to work at 5AM, that is an eleven hour day. We got a lot done, though, and we had an all-staff meeting which was quite informative.

It was still raining by the time I got home. At least the house is no longer leaking. My landlord and a construction guy stopped by the house to check out what was going on this weekend. Long story short, there are vents in the attic which were compromised due to the high winds. The rain came in that way and kind of dispersed throughout the house. They figured out a way to fix it without us having to move out. I love that.

I had a first this morning on the way to work. I was pulled over and DIDN’T get a ticket. The officer was every nice and gave me a warning. I think it was due to the fact that everyone was speeding, not just me. I was the only one to get caught. Man, I am glad I didn’t get a ticket. That is not a cost I need right now.

Talk to tomorrow,

A woman fainted on “The Price Is Right” yesterday.  It happened when her showcase prizes were being revealed.  She was pumped when she heard about a trip to Minneapolis . . . but she hit the ground when she saw the new car.   She ended up being OK, and even better… WINNING!  Watch the clip below to see her fall…

Hey fellow Wolfpack peeps! :D

As I mentioned on the air, the Exploratorium in SF is doing some cool stuff – and it’s not just for kids anymore! The first Thursday of the month they have a program called After Dark about which they say:  “Not a theater, cabaret, or gallery, After Dark contains aspects of all three. Each evening showcases a different topic—from music to sex to electricity—but all include a cash bar and film screenings, plus an opportunity to play with our hundreds of hands-on exhibits.” Gotta play with your science  – hee.

Friday

Posted in: Corey's Diary

Dear Diary,

So things took a bad turn yesterday with the weather. When I got home from work I found water puddles all over the place. Every time I got a bucket under one leak, I would spot another. It was crazy. There were leaks under the windows…coming from the ceiling…I am glad I caught some of it when I did. My wooden chest my mother gave me has water damage down the back. Plus, some of our vintage drapes are ruined. It sucks…but I feel worse for our landlord. It is his house.

I am a little concerned about how long the repairs will be and what they will entail. The leaks are pretty extensive. I hope we don’t have to move….ugh, I really like it there. Oh well, one step at a time.

My handyman in Minnesota sent me pics of the damage to our townhome. I don’t even want to open them. I think I will wait for a sunny day…and a giant glass of wine.

Dear Diary,

I am well into day 3 of my eating right and so far, so good. I went to the grocery store yesterday. Jeff loves to go to the grocery store….me, not so much. Oh, and you can never go hungry…you will buy everything. I stuck to the good stuff, though. I got salad fixin’s, yogurt, 100-calorie packs….I am focusing more on portion control, then sacrifice. I don’t do well with that.

I am delighted the rain will come to a close by Friday. I love that everything is turning green with the rain, but I am over walking to two blocks to work in the wind and the rain. I really should invest in some galoshes….do people even say that word, anymore?

Not too many plans this weekend, which is nice. We are trying to save money. My handyman in Minnesota let me know how much repairs would be on our town home. Ouch. Ouch. And ouch again. Really?
