Taylor Swift, Auburn University students Michael Wekall and Ryan Leander can cross an item off their bucket lists. She surprised the originators of ahugfromtaylorswift.com Monday (4/26) with a private concert for completing their assigned challenges. The duo’s site features a series of online video blogs campaigning to meet Swift in a two-step process: “1. Hug Taylor Swift, and 2. DIE HAPPY!” They earned more than 61,000 views over three months before Swift herself acknowledged the campaign in March. “They seem very dedicated,” she posted. “… Like they would be game for some challenges.” After completing challenge one of helping an old lady across the street and challenge two of using Swift’s favorite No. 13 in a creative way, Wekall and Leander organized a Swift karaoke party in Auburn, AL. A Swift video message interrupted the “You Belong With Me” sing-along before Swift walked in the back door (to mass hysteria) wearing a “Hug For Mike And Ryan” t-shirt. “After all you have done, I feel a hug might not be enough. Maybe you, Ryan and Michael, would like front-row seats at one of my concerts,” Swift offered after chanting the school’s “War Eagle” battle cry.

After such a great response from Dave’s first instructional video on how to play “Need You Now” on guitar, he’s put together a second tutorial. This time Dave walks you through the guitar tuning and chord structure for Lady A’s #1 hit “American Honey”.
Country music star Miranda Lambert snagged a large paddlefish last week while on a fishing trip at Hudson Lake in northeastern Oklahoma. Her boyfriend and fellow country star Blake Shelton, pictured behind her, caught a 40-pound paddlefish that set a lake record on the same trip.
The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were held on Sunday and the fan-voted award for Top New Artist went to Luke Bryan over Joey+Rory and Gloriana.
After the show, Gloriana’s Tom Gossin took to his Twitter (@ThomasGossin) to express his feelings on the award and the genre in general. Here’s what he had to say…
So friends- let’s break it down. Luke had a #1 song before we even started recording our album. New artist? Thoughts?
Listen- on the real- luke us a f—in great dude! He deserved that award. I just wish the noms were more realistic. He’s got 2 albums out!
Awards don’t mean s–t in the long run.Our fans are the best in the world! We know what’s good and so do you guys and that’s all that matters
We need to keep country music progressing, not regressing. You can only say stuff about farms and tractors so many times before its lame.
We are artist trying to make art. If we were to just copy something someone already said, would that be art? We want to say something new!
I love all of you! No worries. Everything happens for a reason!
He updated again this morning and said…
Guys- for the record- I’m not hating on luke! He’s a friend of mine and he deserved that award! I’m just trying to keep everyone’s mind open.
So sorry if I came across as a sore loser! I don’t play music for awards- I play music because I love it more than anything!
it’s amazing how many people follow me and have negative things to say! Once again, I love luke! We had drinks together tonight! not bitter!

It would not be a true awards show if there wasn’t at least a little cattiness involved!
Actress Kirstie Alley was the target of one of Reba McEntire’s jokes on last night’s ACM Awards, and the punchline earned jeers from the former ‘Cheers’ star.
In a gag that first took aim at a country superstar, Reba joked, “Next is Toby Keith. Toby has a chain of restaurants called I Love This Bar and Grill. It specializes in fried onion rings, fried mozzarella sticks and southern fried Twinkies. Yeah, that sounds like Thanksgiving at Kirstie Alley’s house to me.”
Kirstie, a frequent Twitter user, tweeted: @reba – ”wow…thought we girls would stick together….next time you need a fat joke about me, just ask…Mine are actually funny.”
Ooops…!
