Dear Diary,

It was a very hot first day of September, but I am enjoying it. We had such a cold Summer, I will take a few warm days. Plus, it is supposed to cool down for the weekend. So, the weather will be great for the Sausalito Art Festival. We went last year and had such a great time. The bands they get are fantastic.

This year they have The Bangles, Modern English, Pablo Cruz, The Tubes…I can’t wait. We are going to grab brunch with some friends and then hit the show.

This week feels so weird without Eddie. He is on vacation until Tuesday. The show is always different when one of is is gone. He deserves some time off. I hope he is having a good time.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dear Diary,

I haven’t feeling too hot for the last couple of days. My nose is stuffed up, I have a sore throat…blech. I decided to come in today…mainly because I can’t take one more episode of ‘Who’s the Boss?’ on the Hallmark Channel. There is just no good day time TV when you are sick. I do like the Food Network, but that always makes me hungry.

And geeez, there are about 142 shows about cupcakes…seriously…cake boss, amazing cakes, cupcake wars, the cupcake stops here, cupcakes or bust…there are so many.

Eddie is on vacation this week. It is just not the same without hi, I have to do the traffic. Plus, I have to make fun of Ken all by myself…it is not an easy job.

No big plans for this Labor Day weekend. The Sausalito Art Festival is going on. We went last year and it was a lot of fun. I will see if I am up for it. Hopefully, I will be full steam ahead in a couple of days.

Dear Diary,

You know what drives me crazy? People who completely underestimate you and treat you like you have no clue. Man, that is so annoying. It is not even worth going into. However, I am trying to be the bigger person, keep my head and have compassion for my fellow man.

But I am not stupid either, so treating me that way is not going to go over well.

On a postive note, there are some great festivals going on this weekend. There is the Bodega Seafood Festival, the Good Guys Car Show, the Tiburon Art & Wine Festival…and that is just beginning. Jeff and I might meet up with our friends Chris & Lisa. They live in Cloverdale, but might drive over for the festivals. It would be great to see them. It has been too long.

At least is it Friday and I have a blissful 2 days to sleep in. Tylenol PM, you are a good friend.

Dear Diary,

We got our work stuff done early yesterday, so I got home earlier than usual which was great. I cleaned the kitchen, worked out, did some laundry…made some phone calls. It was great.

I left a voicemail for my gal, Heather, in Florida. It was her birthday yesterday. We are the same age, just a couple months apart. She got back to me last night, I was so happy her gift arrived in time.

This week has gone by pretty fast, I can’t believe it is Thursday already. I am tyring to figure out what we are going to do. I feel like we have a bunch of busy work. We need to do a drop off at Goodwill, the basement all of sudden exploded and that needs to be cleaned.

Jeff also wants to head in to the city to Tanja. He has one more tattoo left for his half-sleeve. Hopefully, she can fit him in this weekend.

Dear Diary,

It was another hot one yesterday. Again, I don’t want to complain because it has been such a cold Summer. However, the house refused to cool down. We were putting bowls of ice in front of the fans. It didn’t work.

We actually were icing down the dogs to keep them cool. We bumped into our neighbors who suggested we all go out for a cold, refreshing cocktail at an air-conditioned restaurant. We were lamenting that our bedrooms were easily 106-degrees.

They are headed to Burning Man this weekend. It sounds like quite the amazing event where you can just let loose and not worry about a thing. I would love to go just to observe…I bet there would be some good stories. I told them I wanted to see photos:)

Dear Diary,

I am so happy we are finally getting some warm weather. It was gorgeous out yesterday. The heat of the sun felt fantastic.

The weekend flew by, like they usually do. Jeff and I tried to make the most of it. We didn’t watch much TV, we spent some quality time together. I know, crazy right?

I don’t have a crazy week this week and I am loving it. There is no rushing around. I can just chill and catch up on things.

I am behind on my phone calls. I need to check in with the family. Today I am putting in some calls to dad and my sis. I am so bad about the phone.

My mosquito bites are finally going away. That took a week. Yikes.

Dear Diary,

I had lunch with my friend Lisa yesterday. We went to Betelnut in the Marina. I am always up for some Asian Fusion and she is a great partner. We got a bunch of plates and split them. It was delicious.

It was so nice to see her and we both agreed we have to try harder to get together. If we are up for it, we are going to try for brunch on Sunday. She wanted to try a french place as well and there is a fabulous place in Marin. It is called Le Garage. The service is great and the view is amazing. You just have to get there before 11AM…or you will be in for a long wait.

I also caught up with my sister yesterday. She has her pilates studio all set up and she has been advertising. Now, she just needs the clients. I told her it hasn’t been that long, but I can tell she is ready to be busy again.

This week has gone by pretty quick. I am not complaining. I always look forward to the opportunity to sleep in.

Dear Diary,

I ran some errands yesterday after work. My friend, Heather in Florida, had a baby last New Year’s Day. I told her to send me whatever she might need from Baby Gap. Thanks to Jeff’s employment at Gap Inc., I can swing her a sweet discount. Well, I finally had a chance to head over there and pick up what she needs. Her birthday is next week, so I am going to throw in her present with her baby goodies. I just hope if I mail it out today, it gets to Florida in time.

Last night, I was looking for a pair of sandals. I had them in Houston and couldn’t find them anywhere. That is when Jeff reminded me that he “flat-tired” me…and they were in a Texas landfill somewhere now. Boo…those were one of my favorite pairs of comfy sandals.

I need to do some recon today to replace them. The only problem is that we are in the Fall preview for the stores. Maybe I will get a sweet deal if they are on sale.

Dear Diary,

There was only one negative from our weekend in Houston and I found it yesterday. My legs are covered in mosquito bites. Ugh, they itch so bad. I have about 7 on each leg. It is not good. It reminds me of growing up in Florida. I would be in a crowd of 50 and I would be the only one that got bit. It’s a gift. My mom used to say it was because I was so sweet.

Yesterday was laundry day. I think we did about 4 loads. We had to do something, it was starting to crawl out of the closet. I, of course, use this to distract myself from working out. There was no time with all the folding that had to be done.

I am having lunch with my friend Lisa tomorrow. We have this kind of friendship where we see each other every 4 months…lol. For some reason, our schedules do not mesh. It will be nice to finally see her.

Dear Diary,

We had such a great time in Houston. And boy, it was hot. I put the Keratin treatment to the test and it was fantastic. There was some seriously thick humidity and my hair stayed stick straight. I loved the weather, it was a nice change from the cold and fog.

We had so much much fun with Dana and John. We played ping pong, chatted the night away, took some long walks with the dog. I am paying for that though. I discovered a treasure trove of mosquito bites on my legs when we got home. I couldn’t sleep last night, I just kept itching.

It was great to see the pups last night. I missed them. However, Uncle Eddie took such good care of them. I am sure they were spoiled.
