Dear Diary,

This week has been so jam-packed, I feel like today should be Friday. However, it is Friday Eve and I do like that. I met up with some out of town friends yesterday for lunch. We caught up on so much that lunch turned into happy hour. Eventually, Jeff met up with us and next thing you know it is 7:30.

Oops…but it was fun and life is short.

I must get home in a timely manner today. I could tell the pups were a little miffed at how late we got home. I will spend some quality time with them today.

My sis left for Maui yesterday. Her boyfriend is wrapping up some interviews with a new job there. I am excited for them…and also I am excited to have a free place to stay out there. Not too shabby:)

Dear Diary,

Busy Monday and we had some crazy weather. When I got home from work I took the dogs out and right after I got back in, it started to hail. It was small hail but there was a ton of it. The ducks didn’t know what hit ‘em. Poor little guys. I was just happy I made it in with the pups before it hit.

Then it rained on and off for the rest of the day. That was fine with me, I was okay with staying in.

Tonight is the Zac Brown Band concert at the Fox Theater in Oakland. We are meeting super early, so I am going to try to fit in a workout and a nap, but I don’t think that is a reality. I am still in eating mode from Mexico. That has to stop ASAP.

 My dad is in New York today for a speaking engagement. I am so proud of him. Can’t wait to hear how it goes.

Dear Diary,

Our trip to Cabo was so nice. It was such a treat to see Jeff’s family, catch up and be in such a relaxing setting. We went whale-watching one day, which was amazing. I couldn’t believe how big they are or how close to the boat they got. Jeff got some fabulous pictures.

I also loved walking around downtown. It was so pretty and the culture is so fascinating. We found some great souvenirs to take home. Plus, we made a pit stop at Cabo Wabo. That place was packed and the band was great.

Things kind of took a down turn when I got sick Friday…but at least it was the end of the week and the weather turned rainy. It must have been something I ate, cause we sure did a lot of eating.

It was great to come home and see the pups, though. I missed them. They wouldn’t leave our side for the rest of the weekend.

Dear Diary,

I am so excited, we leave tomorrow for Mexico. I think I am pretty much packed. I am totally over the moon that my magic suit from Victoria’s Secret fit…and it truly is a magic suit. It really sucks in your gut. That is a beautiful thing.

I got my entire body waxed yesterday…well, almost entirely. I did the legs, bikini, underarms…Jeff couldn’t be happier that he doesn’t have to sleep next to Sasquatch anymore. Me too:)

And I have a special surprise today. My good friend from college is in town and we are squeezing in a lunch. She currently lives in France, so I love a chance to see her. She and I met and hit it off immediately. I can’t wait to catch up with her.

After that, I am loading up on SPF 70 and putting on my big, floppy hat. Mexico, here I come.

Dear Diary,

I got some stuff together for the big trip. I made out a cheat sheet for our pet-sitter. I like to have crib notes out on the counter just as a back-up. I also got my Victoria’s Secret shipment today.

I was going to do a VS fashion show to see what fits and what I should take with me. However, Eddie had a good point…I should wait until after I get my legs waxed…for my sake and the sake of anyone helping me. He’s right, it is not a pretty sight. Thankfully, I am getting that done this afternoon.

My friend Heather and Justin sent me some photos. It was of their baby, James. He got to come home from the hospital yesterday. I am so happy for them. He looks so healthy. Mom and dad look fantastic as well.

More packing today and we should be good.

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was a super-long day, but I got caught up something I have been meaning to do for a while. I was at work, so I didn’t want to call. I wouldn’t be able to give my pals my undivided attention. However, I was able to send out some emails that covered a lot of info. I now it sounds impersonal, but with the difference in time zones and all of our crazy schedules….sometimes emails are the best way to chat. I wrote to Heather and Allison in Florida and Dana in Texas.

I miss those gals so much. I hope we can schedule some sort of girls weekend soon.

I must start packing for next week. I feel like I am totally procrastinating. I need to check toiletries, figure out warm clothes to take…the sad part is I haven’t worn those Summer clothes in a while. I think I am putting off finding out what doesn’t fit anymore. Blech.

And of course, that didn’t stop me from having a frosted cookie last night.

Dear Diary,

Jeff wasn’t feeling well, so he took the day off yesterday. I selfishly love having him home during the day. This is going to sound so mushy, but he tucks me in for a nap when he is home. Even though he was the sick one, he tucked me in. I sleep so much better.

I was hoping to get my magic bathing suit in the mail today, but no such luck. I wonder if I should start looking in the local stores. I don’t know if they will have the magic belly flatten-er, though.

I start the day really well…with a healthy yogurt, or perhaps a fruit smoothie. I course, I end the day with chicken wings and a pinot noir. Did you know that a bottle of wine has 700 calories or more? That hurts…my gut, mostly.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Especially since today is free pancake day at IHOP.

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was so rainy and nasty, it is nice to see the sun will be out today. Jeff and I somewhat hibernated yesterday. He spent a lot of time in the kitchen, so I made sure to get in a workout before those cookies came out of the oven.

There is no better way to spend a rainy day than to fill the house with the smell of fresh-baked cookies. Of course, it certainly isn’t helping me on my path to losing weight. I don’t think anything we did this weekend was good for that…lol. We did have fun, though.

Eddie came over to our neck of the woods, and I don’t know why…but we started looking at old photos. It was crazy, and so much fun. However, it made me miss my friends. There were so many great pictures of hanging out with my pals from Florida and Minnesota. It got me to thinking I should get the gals together for a weekend. I miss them.

Today started off really weird, but I think we will emerge victorious. That probably doesn’t make sense, but it will.

I saw my buddy, Alex, yesterday. He did a great job with my hair. It was quite disturbing at first. He cut my hair pretty short. But I really like it. It looks so much healthier and will eb so much easier to take  care of. Jeff liked it too. he actually thought it was back in a ponytail when I got home. It is that short. But I would rather have healthy, shiny short hair…than scraggly thin long hair.

This weekend is pretty low-key, and I like it. I am going to get prepped for the trip next weekend. I am so excited, it is going to be great. Eddie is taking care of the pups while we are gone, so he is stopping by to see what differences there are with 3 instead of 2.

I also just want some quiet time with my hubby. We don’t get enough of that.

Dear Diary,

It is our favorite day of the week, it is Friday eve:) I worked out last night…barely. It was not a good workout. I think that run the night before really kicked my butt. However, I needed it. I ordered the Magic Suit from Victoria’s Secret…hopefully, that will hide my indiscretions.

I am off to see Alex, my hairdresser, today. It is time to fix the roots and I think I need a good cut. I took out the hair extensions my friends put in over a month ago when they came to visit. Kate and Kelly did a great job. However, I didn’t feel like dealing with them in Mexico.

Now, my ends are looking a little rough. That is pretty much par for the course after I do extensions. I think I will maybe see about a bob…is that still a style? A bob? Perhaps, I will check on Wikipedia and see what the now term is. I think bob is from 1989.
