YOGA TIME

Posted in: Eddie's Dish

Dear Friends,

The 60 mile Breast Cancer 3-Day walk is now behind me and it’s time to stretch. My new adventure this year is Yoga and now is the perfect time to stretch and breathe. I found the best place in the Bay Area to get started (I’m a preschooler as far as Yoga is concerned) and it’s called YOGAWORKS! Check out my video here on The Wolf website and listen to our show in the morning, because I am going to be giving away Free Yoga Passes … good for one full week of yoga at YOGAWORKS!  www.yogaworks.com

Take Care, Friends! … and I’ll catch you on the radio – Eddie

Dear Friends,

WOW! Another amazing Kenny Chesney concert is behind us.  What a fun show, with Lady A & Miranda too!  Beach Ball Free For All was “SICK” & I am still trying to recover 3 days later … it was well worth it & XTRA SPECIAL THANKS to all you Wolf Listeners out there who are not only part of The Wolf Pack, but part of the family.  I feel like we are all just a bunch of great friends who get together and celebrate country music :)   Check out some of the photo’s on my Facebook page:  http://www.facebook.com/kingeddie?ref=pr…

Also wanted to let all you Jewel fans know that she will appearing at The Warfield, here in San Francisco, on my birthday, Tuesday, July 28th.  Spoke with her briefly today, and she told me it’s an acoustic show, with just her and her guitar … SWEET!!! The show starts at 8pm, I will be there, and tickets are on sale now.  Here is a link to her website where you can get tickets and join me at the show:  www.jeweljk.com

I hope you all will listen in next Tuesday, July 28th to my birthday show.  I have no doubt Ken & Corey are planning something fun … and I have a little surprise of my own.

Be well, my friends … and I’ll see you on the radio – Eddie

Dear Friends,

If Perez can do it, so can Eddie.  Thought I would share some of the interesting and cool things happening in Country Music:

1) The one-hour concert special Sugarland: Live On The Inside will premiere on ABC-TV Monday, Aug. 3 at 8pm ET. The show will feature their hits “Settlin’,” “Stay,” “All I Want To Do,” “Something More” and never-before-televised performance footage. The special coincides with the release of their high-def CD/DVD set Live On the Inside, which will be released exclusively to Wal-Mart the next day (8/4) … I love Sugarland.

2) According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julianne Hough is confirmed to star opposite Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford in the Footloose remake. Regarding her acting debut, Hough recently told us, “Music will always be my foundation. Singing, acting and dancing all kind of go together. It’s not like I’m trying to be an astronaut and a singer.” Depending on her schedule for the March 2010 shoot, Hough will play “Ariel Moore,” which originally was cast with actress Lori Singer in the 1984 film.

… and now for a few quick hits:

  • Faith Hill previews her upcoming fragrance (out this October) here.
  • Reba McEntire apologizes through Twitter for her short CMA Music Fest set.
  • Alan Jackson is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  • Win a trip for two to see Kenny Chesney courtesy of TouchTunes.

» Video Hit List

  • Jack Ingram stocks up on his favorite beverage here.
  • Dierks Bentley tries his best Keith Urban impression on the beach in Australia.
  • Go behind-the-scenes of Taylor Swift and T-Pain’s “Thug Story” video from the opening moments of the 2009 CMT Music Awards. Watch the finished product here.

That’s all for now fellow country fans.  See you on the radio … Eddie King

Dear Friends,

Happy Memorial Day!  Went to my usual gym appointment today @ 2pm with Danny of New Direction Fitness in Danville.  I’ve been beating myself up lately because I haven’t become as thin as I was hoping in 4 months, although I haven’t done myself any favors by breaking the nutrition rules more often than I can count….including drinking.  Why is eating healthier and exercising regularly SO DAMN HARD????????  Because I’ve been mad at myself for not reaching my goals sooner, I’ve been moody and not much fun to be around lately.  But something happened this weekend to change all that.  I noticed a change in my body, a change I didn’t expect.  I have always lost weight by loosing fat, never building muscle and strength.  Because I wasn’t loosing fat quickly this time, even after 4 months, I was thinking about quitting.  But over the past week and this weekend, I noticed several changes …. that my posture is better and I have more strength and stamina than I’ve felt in a long time.  My body is changing, but this time from the inside out.  So, I’ve decided to stop whining about it and bust my ass and continue to get in the best shape of my life.  If I don’t do it no one will do it for me … and I don’t want to be a Big Fat 40 year old.  I hope I’ve motivated or inspired someone out there …. THIS SHIT IS HARD WORK!  Anyone who says it isn’t is a big, fat liar.

Dear Friends,

It’s been a rough week in the “getting in shape” department.  Of all the work and challenges I’ve had in my life … loosing weight and getting in shape is ABSOLUTELY the hardest.   I’ve been working out since February, but feel like not much has changed … although honestly it has.  I only have until the end of July to meet my goal of getting in great shape, so I’ve got to stop whining and get a move on.  Off to the gym now to disappoint my trainer yet again.  On the brite side … THANK GOD I LOVE MY TRAINER, DANNY, AND MY GYM.

Fatty Out :)

PS.  I’m done moaning … TIME TO GET BACK IN THE GAME EDDIE!!!

Dear Friends,

I hope all of you are well and hanging in there during these rough economic times.  Ken, Corey and myself are trying to make you laugh a little in the mornings and take you away from the stress … Our boss continues to tell us we are failing miserably!!!

I’m in my 4th week of training with Danny McLarty (my coach & guru) and it’s going great … hard, but worth it … I feel great!

Corey and I went to Danville Ink the other day, she is interested in a new tattoo & the visit got me thinking about a piercing … Why Not?  If I look as good as I hope in July (for my 40th Birthday) I might just go for it.

Thanks to everyone again for all your emails of support.  I’m glad so many of you have been inpired to join me on my little journey to a hot body … er, I mean my journey to better health :)

See you on the radio … Eddie

Patience

Posted in: Eddie's Dish

Dear Friends,

Today is Tuesday, February 24th and I’ve entered my 3rd week of working out and eating better.  My Fitness Coach, Danny, weighed me for the 1st time since starting my workout and I have to say I was a little disappointed.  I’ve only lost 4lbs.  Although this is a very realistic start to a proper workout and new eating regimen, I was really hoping for a bigger loss.  I was pretty crabby at the gym, with Danny and all night last night.  After a good nights sleep I realized this morning that what I haven’t lost in pounds, I’ve made up for in stamina.  I have more energy throughout the day and the number of reps I’m doing have increased with every workout.  I am always tempted to cheat … I crave salt and sugar like mad … but so far I’ve resisted.  Except for the occasional glass of red wine.

I’m still in the game to win …. and most definately could not do it with any other gym besides New Direction Fitness in Danville.  It’s unlike any other place I’ve been before, with a talented, caring, motivating staff that is behind me all the way.  It’s not easy, but having them all on my team makes it worth the pain.

Thanks again for you emails of support … Fat picture coming soon :)

Dear Friend,

As I type my little blog, Corey is tempting me with potato chips.  Yes, I ate one chip … just one.  Last week was my first full week of working out, as well as my new eating regimen.  I’m not brave enough to post the photo’s of my half naked, chubby body online yet … but I will give you my stats:

Height: 5′7” / Weight: 201lbs / Body Fat: 27.41%

Ok, stop laughing for a moment and take comfort in the fact that these are not your stats.  They are, in fact, MINE!!!!!!  Many people have changed their lives with Jesus, Depak Chopra, The Dalai Lama, even Oprah & Maya Angelou … I am changing my life with Danny McLarty & Ben Jackson (of New Direction Fitness in Danville)  Danny is my trainer and Ben is the owner of New Direction Fitness and I will talk more about them later.  Right now, just know that I am dedicated to getting in the best/healthiest shape of my life in 2009.  I turn 40 in July and want to look and feel my best as I spiral downward into old age.

See you on the radio …. Eddie

Hello Good People ….

Welcome to my new blog.  I haven’t figured everything out just yet, so this is really just kind of a test.  But I promise to write and confide in you often.  Mainly because nobody around here listens to a word I have to say :)
