The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were held on Sunday and the fan-voted award for Top New Artist went to Luke Bryan over Joey+Rory and Gloriana.

After the show, Gloriana’s Tom Gossin took to his Twitter (@ThomasGossin) to express his feelings on the award and the genre in general. Here’s what he had to say…

So friends- let’s break it down. Luke had a #1 song before we even started recording our album. New artist? Thoughts?

Listen- on the real- luke us a f—in great dude! He deserved that award. I just wish the noms were more realistic. He’s got 2 albums out!

Awards don’t mean s–t in the long run.Our fans are the best in the world! We know what’s good and so do you guys and that’s all that matters

We need to keep country music progressing, not regressing. You can only say stuff about farms and tractors so many times before its lame.

We are artist trying to make art. If we were to just copy something someone already said, would that be art? We want to say something new!

I love all of you! No worries. Everything happens for a reason!

He updated again this morning and said…

Guys- for the record- I’m not hating on luke! He’s a friend of mine and he deserved that award! I’m just trying to keep everyone’s mind open.

So sorry if I came across as a sore loser! I don’t play music for awards- I play music because I love it more than anything!

it’s amazing how many people follow me and have negative things to say! Once again, I love luke! We had drinks together tonight! not bitter!

What do you guys think? Comment or Call me up at 1-888-266-WOLF (9653) between 2-7pm and voice your opinion!

It would not be a true awards show if there wasn’t at least a little cattiness involved!

Actress Kirstie Alley was the target of one of Reba McEntire’s jokes on last night’s ACM Awards, and the punchline earned jeers from the former ‘Cheers’ star.

In a gag that first took aim at a country superstar, Reba joked, “Next is Toby Keith. Toby has a chain of restaurants called I Love This Bar and Grill. It specializes in fried onion rings, fried mozzarella sticks and southern fried Twinkies. Yeah, that sounds like Thanksgiving at Kirstie Alley’s house to me.”

Kirstie, a frequent Twitter user, tweeted: @reba –  ”wow…thought we girls would stick together….next time you need a fat joke about me, just ask…Mine are actually funny.”

Ooops…!

Gloriana shot a HILARIOUS video for the website Funny or Die over the weekend in San Jose (while they were here for the Taylor Swift concert) with friend and tour-mate Kellie Pickler. The video, a spoof on asking fans to vote for ACM Top New Artist of the Year, allowed fans to see the humorous and lighthearted side of the foursome.

“We’ll take any opportunity to pull pranks or play jokes on each other,” said Mike Gossin. “And to be asked to do it officially – for Funny or Die – how could we not jump at the chance.”

Who knew they were such comedians!

Gloriana is nominated for the fan-voted ACM Top New Artist of the Year Award. Fans already voted Gloriana as ACM Top New Vocal Group of the Year, which put them in the running for this Award. Voting is going on now at www.VoteACM.com through Sunday, April 18th at 8pm EST when the live broadcast of the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music at 8 p.m. eastern on the CBS Television Network.

The Name of our Birthday Bash is “Barefoot and Crazy” which happens to be our host’s title of his latest single:

Tomorrow is the day and we’re so excited to see you! Your Wolf turns two (14 in human lives) so you know we’re gonna have some fun. We are holding our 2nd Annual Birthday Bash at the Saddle Rack in Freemont and you’re invited. If you need directions to get there, just go to www.thesaddlerack.com. We’re so happy about this terrific day we’ve even invited a couple of our friends to join us. Although without you there wouldn’t be a party and your Wolf LOVES to have fun. Keep in mind, the only way to get into our exclusive party is to win. Make sure to listen to me (Nikki) to win to get your tickets to get in. Heck, even our hosts won to get in. Here’s the lineup we have to entertain you. We have YOU, (Yay!!), Trent Tomlinson and Jack Ingram.

Okay here’s a little bit about your performers for the night.

Trent Tomlinson. He has a new album coming in stores July 21, 2009 the Album is called “A Guy Like Me” with his current hit “A Guy Like Me” be sure to listen to the Wolf to be the 1st to win this album before it hits stores. Here’s a little more about Trent taken from his website at www.trenttomlinson.com

Singer/songwriter Trent Tomlinson is one of those rare performers whose music is as straight-ahead and unpretentious as he is. “My songs,” he says simply, “are real-life situations with kick-ass guitar.” “It’s ‘open a beer, sit in a lawn chair, let’s have a party’ country,” he says of his music. “At the same time, the songs are saying, ‘I have the ability to love you, to understand,’ and at the end of the day all that matters is Mama and Daddy and going to heaven. That pretty much sums everything up.”Trent honed his music to perfection in countless demo studios over the years. “I’ve had five publishing deals,” he says. “I’ve practically lived in the studio, creating and honing a sound of my own. And it turns out that five of the songs on the album record are actually my demos — Lyric Street loved them so much as is that we just went in and re-sang and tweaked a little, instead of re-recording.”

Trent from behind. Hmmm.

Next: On to Jack Ingram.

You’ve heard this guy on your Wolf. He’s the “Big Voice Guy” when he says “The bay area clock tower strikes (a certain hour). That’s Jack’s voice. Jack is probably one of the nicest artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He performs so gracefully and never misses a beat. His voice is very commanding and he relates to the audience as though he knows each and every one of us. Here’s a little bit about Jack:

Taken from cmt.com: In 2006, Ingram released Live — Wherever You Are, an album he recorded at Gruene Hall, on Big Machine Records. The project included his first two new studio tracks since the Electric sessions. The album’s first single, “Wherever You Are,” reached No. 1 at country radio. Oh..did you know he also won an ACM? Yep! Check it out here: http://www.jackingram.net/default.htm.
